The AEDBF Annual Conference took place at the Hilton Hotel in Athens on 5 and 6 October 2012. Subject of the Conference was “Bank Restructuring and Bank Recapitalisation”.
The conference has addressed the following two topics:
1) Bank Restructuring measures: The draft Proposal of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a framework for the recovery and resolution of credit institutions and investment firms and the national legislations on that issue.
2) The new bank recapitalisation scheme proposed in the Euro Area Summit of 28/29 June.
Thanks to the above important current topics the event has gathered more than 180 representatives from local, European and international, private and public institutions, such as the European Central Bank, National Central Banks, Supervisory Authorities and banking institutions, as well as members from the academic community, specialists and practitioners in banking and financial law. The AEDBF national associations have been represented to a great extent.
The Conference commenced with the opening note of the AEDBF Chairman Dr. Dimitris Tsibanoulis and ended with the key note speech of Prof. George Mergos, General Secretary of the Ministry of Finance of Greece.
